The SBC WG created this guidance document to assist 2024 Annual Meeting attendees with obtaining a visa to Kenya.
Not sure if you need a visa?
Kenya may not require a visa for some nationalities wishing to visit the country. Please check this link to see if the nationality on your passport is listed. Nationals of all other countries can obtain an evisa online.
Confirm if you need a visa by viewing the up-to-date nationality list here:
https://www.etakenya.go.ke/en/pages/GENERAL_INFO
E-Visa:
If your country requires a visa, you can apply for an evisa online at the following link: https://www.etakenya.go.ke/en/pages/GENERAL_INFO
Recommended timeline from etakenya.go.ke: "eTA applications for Kenya are usually processed in 3 days, however it is recommended applications be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to travel to ensure adequate time for processing. Travellers can submit their applications up to 3 months prior to travel."
Yellow Fever Vaccination/Other Health Considerations/Travel Insurance:
All travellers arriving in Kenya from countries where yellow fever is endemic should present a valid yellow fever certificate. Learn more about yellow fever requirements and exemptions here: https://health.go.ke/incoming-travellers
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required. Consult your local travel clinic or doctor for other health-related considerations for travel.
Travel and health insurance is not required; although recommended, it is ultimately up to the individual traveller's discretion and decision.
Personalized Annual Meeting Invitation Letter for Visa Applications:
The Kenya evisa website provides a complete list of required documentation for visa applications. The visa process requires several documents, including a 2024 SBC WG Annual Meeting invitation letter.
